Fourth Gymtastic Fest for Blandford!!

“Everything ran like Clockwork!!”

The children from 8 Primary Schools in The Blandford Family attended  excellent Key Steps Gymnastics Events. This was the culmination of work initiated by the Head Coach and SSCo who visited schools just after Christmas to introduce the theme and floor activities.

Head Coach at Blandford Forum Gym Club Helen Barnett- Moore exclaimed that ‘ these were the best Festivals we have hosted and the standard of gymnastics on display was of an extremely high quality’.

Over 150 youngsters from Archbishop Wake, Blandford St Mary, Downlands, Dunbury, Durweston, Milldown, Pimperne and Spetisbury Primary schools took part in the Festival.

12 Sports Leaders from The Blandford School assisted the Year 2 children as they experimented with beam and bar work, trampolining, vaulting and rebound work.

The finale saw the children performing their ‘Machines’ floor routine to music. There were clocks, rockets, cars and recycling machines on display.

Well done to all of the children who took part. Thank you to Kevin Noyce and all of the Sports Leaders who helped with this event.

Special thanks to Helen and all of her staff for ensuring that every child had such a wonderful experience.

One child was heard saying ‘ I love it up here so much I want to sleep here tonight!’
