Downlands Dragons take on the Milldown Mavericks!

The Blandford School hosted a Year 3 and 4 High 5 Netball Festival for 100 children from the Blandford Family.

10 teams took part using the names of the netball Super league. We had names like the Milldown Mavericks, TeamBSM, Spetisbury Storm and the Pimperne Wildcats.

Year 12 Community Sports Leaders Leanne Peaty and Faye Samways organised the skills activities.  With the help of 12 year 10 Sports Leaders they played games like Tail Tag, Dirty Dungeons and Ladders.

The children then had their first experience of Netball games by playing a modified High 5 game. Throughout the afternoon they were rewarded with stickers for excellent play.

Despite the cold chilly weather everyone enjoyed the afternoon. Many thanks to all of the students involved, Karen Peaty (Dorset Netball Development Officer) and Kev Noyce for ensuring the Festival was such a success.
