The North Dorset SSP has recieved £21,500 per year since September 2008 to enable school sport coaches to work in schools, preparing students for regional and County competitions.
During 2009-10 this funding enabled nearly 1,000 hours to be delivered by qualified sports coaches during lunchtime and after school sessions, in sports such as basketball, badminton, gymnastics, hockey, rugby and volleyball.
